Tips: Conduct a Successful Social Media Strategy to promote your event

Use your social media profiles to promote your live events such as Training and Product launch seminars.

Social media is a very effective promotional channel to increase awareness, attendance and participation.      Both Facebook and LinkedIn have the facilities to create event postings and invitations.

Use your social media to give details, share links where readers can get more information or RSVP and generate more interest in your event.

As the date approaches, send out reminders and have a countdown.

Offer incentives for those registering through your social media.  Create and use Twitter hashtags to increase awareness, updates on twitter help to keep attendees informed of the event.

Get it wrong and a bad choice of seating layout can affect the outcomes of your event.

Choosing the seating layout for your meeting or event is one of the most important planning decisions.

Perfect for meetings of between 6 and 14 as everyone is sitting close enough to the other participants to hear clearly - using this layout for too many participants can result in having to shout across the table to be heard.

It is also good for interviews where there are 3 or more interviewers. Everyone is seated opposite the interviewee who can see and hear everyone clearly without having to turn aside.

Ideal when all participants need to have a clear view of the projection screen, television or whiteboard and keeping numbers to a maximum of 12 also means everyone is close enough to the presenter and other participants to be involved in the event, whether it is training, a client presentation or product introduction.

Theatre Style Seating is the most formal layout and focuses the participants on the presenter and their presentation as they have a clear view of the projector screen, television or whiteboard.

Classroom Style seating layout gives participants a desk surface to place laptops, note books which again having a clear view of the projector screen, television or whiteboard.  Training events, Revision Sessions and Examinations are best set up in this layout.

When it comes to choosing your seating layout think about the type of event you are holding, how you want the presenter and participants to interact. Will the participants need to take notes or use equipment and how formal you want the setting to be?

When booking a meeting room at the Belfast Business Centre, our staff have the experience and knowledge to properly advise you on all aspects of your meeting from layouts to catering, start to finish.
